Portland Rose Festival Air
Show 2000
The
Air Show started on Friday at 11:00. Right about that time, something
very very loud buzzed the house. By the time Robin made it outside to
catch a glimpse of it, it was gone. Whatever it was, it sure got the
cat's attention. This photo of a Blue Angel was shot later that same
day.
The
Blue Angels flew directly over our house. Talk about a front row seat.
Through
out most of the Blue Angels show, four planes flew in formation while the
other two flew separately.
At
the very end of their show, all six Blue Angels join up and perform a
spectacular ending.

After
all six fly together, they come in for a landing one by one. On their
way to the runway on Friday, they flew right over our house.
We
hosted our first annual Air Show BBQ in 2000. It was a small group,
but we had a great time, and the show was loud and spectacular! The
planes were quite loud, especially for young ears. Cassidy
and Carson try to close out some of the noise with their dad Scott Alford.

We're
not sure what plane this is.

found great interest in our yellow roses.

Cassidy
and Carson were having lots of fun together.

Below
is Robin's favorite photos from the air show. These show how close the
planes flew to our house. If you look really closely, you can see Nick
on the roof taking his own pictures.
